Projects and Programmes

CASME has adopted a number of key implementation models in line with its Theory of Change which says:

If we improve teacher competence in curriculum delivery and teaching methodologies, improve access to quality resources and information and address learning skills and attitude then we can improve learner performance in our focus subjects of mathematics and science.

Teacher Training and Support
Teacher training and support is a the core of CASME's efforts to change the lives of learners. Our approach is a Pedagogical Content Knowledge one addressing teachers' knowledge of their subject as well as the methods of teaching. For a more details understanding of the programmes offered to teachers see the For Teachers section.

Learner Programmes
Learners are brought together on weekends and school holidays where problematic topics are addressed in collaboration with their teachers. Our approach is to address prior knowledge and skills gaps and therefore we advocate a cohort based programme that runs over 3 years from Grade 10 to 12. In addition we are introducing ICT resources into our learner support initiatives. For more information please visit our For Learners section.

Resourcing for Teaching and Learning
CASME operates six Resource Centres which provide a range of resources including experiment kits to teachers on a two-week loan basis. Resource Centres are typically linked with a professional development programme that addresses content knowledge and the effective use of equipment through workshops and classroom support. For more information visit our Resource Centres page.
